At the Central Florida Dreamplex Therapeutic School, students with unique academic and functional needs are finding more than just an education—they’re finding a place to belong.
Before this specialized high school program launched, many parents expressed concerns about sending their children to schools that couldn’t fully support their needs. Today, there’s a renewed sense of hope and relief. With the support of individualized plans, life skills instruction, and an inclusive environment, students are building confidence while learning practical skills like cooking basics, personal hygiene, and getting dressed.
One student’s journey stands out.
When Gino first enrolled at Dreamplex, he faced challenges regulating his emotions, often expressing frustration through aggressive behavior. But through the consistent support of his teacher, his RBT, and the school staff—as well as Gino’s own determination—his transformation has been incredible. With tailored strategies and structured routines in place, Gino has learned to manage his emotions more positively, stay engaged during lessons, and contribute enthusiastically to group activities.
His curiosity is growing. So is his confidence.
This program has become a vital lifeline for families who once felt overlooked. As one parent shared, the opportunity for their child to thrive close to home—with peers who understand and support each other—is nothing short of life-changing.
Together, we’re helping build a stronger, more inclusive South Lake—one student at a time.
