At Lake-Sumter State College, students in the Medical Laboratory Technician program are discovering how curiosity and hard work can shape a meaningful career in healthcare.

One of those students, Kendall Gohrs from Orange City, first found her love for science at Seminole State College. After earning her AA and a technical certificate in Laboratory Sciences, she chose to continue her education at LSSC, where she found the right program and a supportive community to help her grow.

Kendall plans to graduate this December and continue toward a Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory Science, with hopes of working in a hospital or reference lab as a Microbiology Specialist.

“My entire time here at LSSC has opened so many doors and opportunities for me. I am extremely grateful to attend LSSC and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.”

We’re so proud to see students like Kendall pursuing their goals and helping strengthen the future of healthcare in our community.
