The Live Well Foundation of South Lake spent the day delivering hundreds of “Thank You” gift cards to workers in the critical positions within the healthcare and first response fields throughout the South Lake County towns of Clermont, Four Corners, Groveland, Mascotte, Minneola, and Montverde.
The Foundation purchased more than $25,000 in gift cards to 23 local and open, table-service restaurants that are also members of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce including: Beef O’Brady’s, Bob Evans, Calabria’s Ristorante, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Cheeser’s Palace Café, Chili’s, Cracker Barrel, Crooked Spoon, Flippers
Pizzeria, Guru Restaurant, Hurricane Grill & Wings, Keke’s Breakfast Café, Lake Minneola Inn & Tiki Bar, Lil Anthony’s Pizza, Oakwood Smokehouse & Grill, Original Goombas Pizzeria, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday, San Jose’s Original Mexican Restaurant, Sonny’s Real Pit Bar-B-Q, and Uncle Kenny’s BBQ. The gift cards served as the Foundation’s way to thank the more than 1,000 workers directly helping those afflicted with the new coronavirus, COVID-19. Donna Kirtland, Executive Director of the Live Well Foundation of South Lake, delivered the gift cards to a variety of locations in the community to be distributed to staff.

Kesselring, Live Well Foundation of South Lake Chairman. “We wanted to do something positive in the community amidst the challenging times we are currently navigating. This impact was two-fold, serving as a thank you to the healthcare, police, fire, and EMT staff who are working diligently to ensure the health and well-being of our community, and supporting our business community by buying local. We hope this gesture expresses our community’s appreciation, and can brighten someone’s day.”
