When Janie’s parents brought her to Four Corners Community Health Center for the first time on March 11th, they were scared. Their daughter was in pain, their insurance was set to expire at the end of the month, and they had already been turned away from another dental office. They didn’t know where else to turn.
The team at Four Corners saw a little girl who needed help, and they got to work.
That first appointment was adjusted on the spot to focus on Janie’s immediate pain and infection. The next morning, she was back in the chair for a root canal. That same day, the team squeezed in a consultation to begin pre-authorization for a core and crown. A week later, she was in for crown prep. By March 30th, her crown was delivered.
But the team wasn’t finished. A next-day cancellation opened a slot, and the Four Corners staff grabbed it. On the last day of the month, Janie came in for her new patient exam and cleaning. And then, while she was already in the chair, a same-day cancellation opened a restorative slot. They took that one too, treating a filling on a tooth that, without intervention, would have been headed toward its own root canal and crown.
In just 20 days, Janie received a root canal, a core and crown, a full new patient exam, a cleaning, and a filling. Every single appointment was made possible by a team that refused to let the calendar, the schedule, or an insurance deadline get in the way of care.
Some of it was luck. A cancellation here, an opening there. But luck doesn’t get a frightened family from “turned away” to “fully treated” in under a month. That takes a staff completely aligned around a single goal: help this patient.
Before Janie and her family left, the team made sure they heard one thing clearly. Four Corners is here for them, with or without insurance.
That’s exactly the kind of community-rooted, patient-first care that Live Well Foundation of South Lake is proud to support.
