After years of feeling “down, depressed, and hopeless,” Community Health Centers patient “Mary” began therapy services at the Four Corners Community Health Center in March 2024. At that time, Mary’s 3-year-old son had been living with her mother for 7 months to give Mary time to focus on her own mental health. Mary has attended therapy weekly and while focused on goals such as building self-esteem, confidence and learning to manage anxiety, Mary recognized the need to manage her physical health as well. Appointments were scheduled with a primary care provider and psychiatrist at CHC.

With the coordination of services, Mary reports improvement in her mood and motivation. In addition, she has regained custody of her son and significant others in her life have also engaged in behavioral health and medical services at CHC. As Mary continues her journey with optimism and clarity, the support she and her tribe receive at Community Health Centers is making a positive impact.
