At just 11 years old, Jane began experiencing overwhelming anxiety—making everyday tasks like ordering food, maintaining friendships, and even imagining life beyond high school feel impossible. By the time she was a senior, she believed she wouldn’t graduate, let alone drive, work, or go to college.
Then, she found the Four Corners Center Behavioral Health Team at Community Health Centers. Through therapy, she learned about anxiety, panic attacks, and coping mechanisms to manage her amygdala. She worked through her fears, gained confidence, and even explored options for medication with the guidance of a trusted prescribing clinician.
Today, Jane’s life looks completely different.
She graduated from high school.
She’s built and maintained friendships.
She’s gained employment and learned to drive.
She’s setting boundaries, communicating assertively, and planning for her future.
She’s enrolled to start college in Spring 2025!
Jane’s story is a testament to the power of compassionate mental health care and the resilience of the human spirit. Let’s celebrate her incredible progress and the dedicated team that supported her every step of the way!
