Elizabeth’s path through Lake-Sumter State College’s nursing program reflects perseverance, growth, and a clear commitment to patient care.
Driven by a passion to help others, Elizabeth immersed herself in rigorous coursework and hands-on clinical training, including valuable experience in the program’s Dedicated Education Unit. There, she strengthened her clinical judgment, confidence, and ability to deliver real-world patient care alongside practicing nurses. This immersive environment played a critical role in bridging classroom learning with bedside application, preparing her to think critically and act decisively in fast-paced healthcare settings.
With the support of faculty mentorship and a collaborative learning environment, Elizabeth developed a strong professional identity grounded in empathy, resilience, and patient advocacy.
Her hard work culminated not only in successfully completing the program in May 2026 but also in accepting a full-time position as a registered nurse in the emergency department, an achievement that reflects both her readiness and determination.
As Elizabeth shares, her experience in the program has been truly transformative, equipping her with the skills and confidence needed to make a meaningful impact in patients’ lives from day one.
Stories like Elizabeth’s are why Live Well Foundation of South Lake is proud to support Lake-Sumter State College’s nursing program, an investment in the healthcare providers who will care for our community for years to come.
