A referral came through Child Social Services—a grandparent emergency custody situation involving four children, the youngest just six months old. Life had changed in an instant for this family, and they needed beds—fast.
That same evening, thanks to the incredible team at Sleep in Heavenly Peace, beds were delivered and assembled. The five-year-old was right there helping, beaming with pride and telling everyone he built all the beds himself. (We absolutely believe him.)
The older kids returned home mid-delivery—school supplies in hand, even though they hadn’t started school yet. When the 13-year-old walked in and saw his bed, he teared up. It was the very first bed he’d ever had. The nine-year-old called dibs on the top bunk, thrilled to have a space of his own.
These are the kinds of moments that remind us what community looks like in action.
